SCOPE

In response to the newly developed fisheries legislation and fisheries policy plan of the Caribbean Netherlands, the WWF-NL decided to aid with the development of a strong and effective fisheries management of the Caribbean Netherlands. To do so, WWF-NL conducted several fisheries-related studies on the Caribbean Netherlands to present to the Ministry of LNV, the public entities and other key fisheries stakeholders of the Caribbean Netherlands. To effectively present the findings of these studies, WWF-NL asked Mac & Field to assist and advise with the development of a so-called 'road-map' and fisheries management policy brief wherein the studies are summarized.

APPROACH

  • Finalize and summarize the studies in collaboration with the head researchers.
  • Advise WWF-NL and the head researchers about the key findings and the main recommendations.

OUTCOME

  • Policy brief for effective fisheries management Caribbean Netherlands.
  • Roadmap to effective fisheries management Caribbean Netherlands.
  • Finalized Social Mapping Study, Co-management study and Awareness & Communication study.
